Adding Tracking Numbers
Providing tracking numbers helps build trust with your customers and reduces "Where is my order?" support requests. Nuvi makes it easy to add tracking information and notify customers automatically.
Adding Tracking to an Order
After you ship an order, follow these steps to add the tracking number:
- Go to Orders in the admin sidebar and open the order you want to update.
- In the Fulfillment section, click "Create Fulfillment" (or edit an existing fulfillment).
- Select the items being shipped.
- Enter the Tracking Number provided by your shipping carrier.
- Select the Carrier from the dropdown (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL, Yurticikargo, Aras Kargo).
- Click "Complete Fulfillment".
Customer Notifications
When you create a fulfillment with a tracking number, Nuvi automatically sends an email to the customer containing:
- The order number and items shipped.
- The tracking number and carrier name.
- A direct link to the carrier's tracking page (auto-generated based on the carrier).
Make sure your email notification provider (Resend) is configured in Settings > Notifications for these emails to be sent.
Updating Tracking Information
If you need to correct a tracking number or add additional shipments:
- Open the order and scroll to the Fulfillment section.
- Click on the existing fulfillment to expand it.
- Update the tracking number or carrier as needed.
- Save your changes — the customer will be notified of the update.
Split Shipments
If an order is shipped in multiple packages:
- Create a separate fulfillment for each shipment.
- Select only the items included in that particular package.
- Each fulfillment can have its own tracking number and carrier.
- The customer receives a notification for each shipment.
Tracking Best Practices
- Add tracking numbers as soon as you have them — customers check frequently.
- Double-check the tracking number before saving. Typos lead to confused customers.
- If your carrier is not in the dropdown list, select "Other" and include the carrier name and tracking URL in the fulfillment notes.
