Google Analytics Setup

Connect Google Analytics 4 to your Nuvi store to track visitors, conversions, and sales data.

Google Analytics Setup

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) gives you detailed insights into how visitors find and use your store. Connecting it to your Nuvi store takes just a few minutes.

Creating a GA4 Property

If you do not already have a GA4 property, create one:

  1. Go to analytics.google.com and sign in with your Google account.
  2. Click "Admin" (gear icon) in the bottom left.
  3. Click "Create Property" and enter your store name.
  4. Select your business category and time zone.
  5. Choose "Web" as the platform.
  6. Enter your store URL (e.g., yourstore.usenuvi.com or your custom domain).
  7. Copy the Measurement ID — it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.

Connecting GA4 to Nuvi

Add your Measurement ID to your Nuvi store:

  1. In the Nuvi admin panel, go to Settings > Integrations (or Settings > Analytics).
  2. Find the Google Analytics section.
  3. Paste your Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX) into the field.
  4. Click "Save".

Nuvi automatically injects the GA4 tracking script on every page of your storefront. No code editing is required.

Verifying Data Collection

After connecting GA4, verify that data is being collected:

  1. Go to your GA4 property in Google Analytics.
  2. Click "Realtime" in the left sidebar.
  3. Open your store in a new browser tab and navigate a few pages.
  4. You should see your visit appear in the Realtime report within a few seconds.

If no data appears after 5 minutes, check that:

  • The Measurement ID is correct (no extra spaces, correct format).
  • You do not have an ad blocker or privacy extension blocking the GA script.
  • You saved the settings and the storefront page has been refreshed.

Key Reports to Monitor

Once data starts flowing, focus on these GA4 reports:

  • Acquisition — Where your visitors come from (search, social, direct, referral).
  • Engagement — Which pages get the most views and how long visitors stay.
  • Conversions — Track add-to-cart and purchase events to measure sales funnel performance.
  • Demographics — Understand your audience's age, location, and device preferences.

Common Issues

  • Data delay — GA4 standard reports can take up to 24 hours to populate. Use Realtime for immediate verification.
  • Bot traffic — Enable bot filtering in GA4 under Admin > Data Streams > Web to exclude crawlers.
  • Cross-domain tracking — If you use both a Nuvi subdomain and a custom domain, configure cross-domain tracking in GA4 to avoid counting the same visitor twice.
