Managing Product Variants

Variants let you offer different versions of the same product — different sizes, colors, materials, or any other attribute. Each variant can have its own price, SKU, and inventory count.

Understanding Options and Variants

In Nuvi, a product option defines a category of variation (like "Size" or "Color"), and variants are the specific combinations:

  • Option: Size → Values: S, M, L, XL
  • Option: Color → Values: Black, White, Navy
  • Variant: Size S + Color Black (unique combination)

Adding Options to a Product

  1. Open the product in the admin panel.
  2. Scroll down to the Variants section.
  3. Click "Add Option".
  4. Enter the option name (e.g., "Size") and values (e.g., "S, M, L, XL").
  5. Click "Save". Nuvi will automatically generate variants for each combination.

Editing Individual Variants

After variants are created, click on any variant to edit:

  • Price — Set a different price per variant (e.g., XL costs more).
  • SKU — Assign unique SKUs for inventory tracking.
  • Inventory — Set stock levels per variant.
  • Images — Assign specific images to each variant so the correct image shows when a customer selects a color.

Bulk Editing Variants

For products with many variants, use the bulk editor:

  1. Click "Edit All Variants" in the variants section.
  2. A spreadsheet-like view appears where you can edit prices, stock, and SKUs for all variants at once.
  3. Click "Save All" when done.

Deleting Variants

To remove a variant, click the variant, then click "Delete". If customers have existing orders with that variant, the order history is preserved but the variant will no longer be available for new purchases.
