Setting Up Your First Store
After creating your account, the next step is configuring your store. This guide walks you through each part of the setup process.
Choosing Your Business Type
During onboarding, Nuvi asks what kind of business you are running. This helps pre-configure your store with the right settings and theme suggestions. Available business types include:
- Retail / E-commerce — Physical products with shipping
- Digital Products — Downloads, courses, or digital services
- Services — Consulting, freelancing, or professional services
- Food & Beverage — Restaurants, cafes, or food delivery
Your business type affects the default theme, sections, and sample content. You can change these later.
Selecting a Subdomain
Every Nuvi store gets a free subdomain in the format yourstore.usenuvi.com. Choose a subdomain that is short, memorable, and matches your brand. Keep in mind:
- Subdomains can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- They must be between 3 and 63 characters long.
- Once chosen, the subdomain cannot be changed (but you can add a custom domain later).
Picking Your Theme
Nuvi includes several professionally designed themes. Browse the theme gallery to see live previews. Consider your content type when choosing:
- Business Theme — Clean, corporate look for professional services
- Editorial Theme — Magazine-style layout for content-heavy stores
- Concept Theme — Modern, minimal design for lifestyle brands
After selecting a theme, you can customize colors, fonts, and sections from the admin panel under Settings > Themes.
Adding Your Logo
Upload your store logo by navigating to Settings > Themes > Customize. Recommended specifications are a PNG or SVG file, at least 200px wide. The logo appears in the header and is used in emails and invoices.
