Migrating from Shopify, WooCommerce, or Wix

Import blog posts, pages, products, and media from your old store with Nuvi's built-in import tool.

Migrating from Shopify, WooCommerce, or Wix

Switching to Nuvi from another platform is straightforward. The built-in import tool can pull blog posts, pages, products, and media from WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and Wix sites — saving you days of manual copy-paste work.

Step 1: Open the Import Wizard

From the admin sidebar, click Import. The wizard greets you with platform options. Pick the source that matches your old site:

  • WordPress — Blog posts, pages, and media.
  • WooCommerce — Products, plus everything WordPress supports.
  • Shopify — Products, blog posts, pages, and media.
  • Wix — Pages, blog posts, and media.

Step 2: Provide the Source URL

Enter the public URL of your old site (e.g., https://my-old-shop.myshopify.com). Nuvi validates the URL format and verifies the site is reachable before kicking off the import. You do not need API keys or admin passwords — the importer reads from public endpoints and sitemaps.

Step 3: Choose What to Import

The wizard scans the source and shows you how many items of each type are available:

  1. Blog Posts — Articles with content, featured image, and publish date.
  2. Pages — Static pages like About Us, Contact, FAQ.
  3. Products — Product catalog (WooCommerce and Shopify only).
  4. Media — Images attached to the imported content.

Toggle each type on or off depending on what you need.

Step 4: Run the Import

Click Start Import. The job runs in the background — you can navigate away and check back later. The status panel shows progress, success counts, and any items that failed. A typical small site finishes in a few minutes; large catalogs may take longer.

Step 5: Review and Clean Up

After import, visit Pages, Press, and Products to review what came over. Imported items start as Draft so you can edit before publishing. Common post-import tasks:

  • Update internal links that still point to your old domain.
  • Re-attach featured images if any failed to download.
  • Adjust SEO titles and meta descriptions for the new URLs.
  • Set up redirects from your old URLs to the new Nuvi paths (see the Creating URL Redirects article).

Step 6: Check Import History

Go to Import > History to see all past import jobs. You can re-run an import if you missed content the first time, or delete an old job to clear it from the list.
