Introduction
Last updated: 5 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on usenuvi.com and on storefronts powered by the Nuvi platform (stores on *.usenuvi.com subdomains and merchants' custom domains). It supplements the Privacy Policy (./privacy-policy-en.md).
The platform is operated by NUVI SOFTWARE LIMITED, 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage. This policy uses "cookies" for all of them.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These make the site work: keeping your session, remembering your cart, and remembering your cookie choices. They are set by the store itself (first-party) and are not used for advertising.
2.2 First-party analytics (privacy-preserving)
Nuvi storefronts include a built-in, first-party analytics system that helps the merchant understand visits and sales. It is deliberately privacy-preserving:
• No raw IP addresses are stored. Visitors are counted using a short-lived, salted hash.
• No data is shared with advertising networks.
• No cross-site tracking identifier is created.
2.3 Marketing cookies (consent required)
A merchant may enable third-party marketing tools on their storefront — currently Meta Pixel (with server-side Conversions API) and Google Analytics 4 (gtag). These are strictly consent-gated:
• On your first visit, the storefront shows a cookie consent banner.
• Marketing pixels do not load, and no marketing events (browser or server-side) are sent, until you grant marketing consent.
• If you decline, the store works fully without marketing cookies.
• Server-side events sent via the Meta Conversions API (only after consent) use SHA-256-hashed identifiers and are deduplicated against browser events.
2.4 Withdrawing consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings link in the storefront footer (or by clearing the store's cookies in your browser, which will re-display the banner). Withdrawal stops all marketing cookies and events from that point onward. To have previously collected data deleted, contact the merchant (they are the data controller) or the third party directly (e.g. Meta and Google offer their own controls).
3. Cookie table
Cookies actually set depend on the store's configuration. Typical cookies on a Nuvi storefront:
Cookie — Type — Purpose — Duration
session (store session) — Strictly necessary, first-party — Keeps you signed in and maintains your browsing session — Session
cart (cart ID) — Strictly necessary, first-party — Remembers the contents of your shopping cart — Up to 30 days
consent (cookie consent) — Strictly necessary, first-party — Stores your cookie-banner choices so you are not asked again — 12 months
_ga, _ga_* — Marketing/analytics, third-party (Google) — only if the merchant enabled GA4 and you consented — Google Analytics 4: distinguishes visitors and sessions — Up to 24 months
_fbp — Marketing, third-party (Meta) — only if the merchant enabled Meta Pixel and you consented — Meta Pixel: identifies browsers for ad measurement and audience building — 3 months
Locale/currency preference cookies (functional, first-party, up to 12 months) may also be set on multilingual stores.
4. Cookies on usenuvi.com itself
The Nuvi website and merchant admin panel use strictly necessary cookies (login session, security) and the same first-party, IP-less analytics described above. No third-party advertising cookies are set on the admin panel.
5. Third-party information

6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the platform's cookie usage evolves; the date above reflects the current version. Questions: [email protected]. For cookies on a specific merchant's store, the merchant is the data controller — see their own privacy/cookie policy.
