Cloning and Reordering Sections
Nuvi themes are built from modular sections — hero banners, product grids, testimonials, FAQ blocks, and more. You can clone, reorder, toggle, and delete these sections to build exactly the layout you want.
Understanding Sections
Each page on your store is composed of sections that stack vertically. Every section has:
- Type — What kind of section it is (e.g., Hero, ProductGrid, Testimonial).
- Data — The content inside (text, images, settings).
- Enabled/Disabled — Whether it appears on the live storefront.
- Sort Order — Its position relative to other sections.
Cloning a Section
Cloning creates a duplicate of an existing section with all its content:
- Open Settings > Themes > Customize.
- Find the section you want to clone in the section list.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the section name.
- Select "Clone".
- The cloned section appears directly below the original. Edit its content to differentiate it.
Cloning is useful when you want two similar sections with slightly different content — for example, two testimonial blocks for different product categories.
Reordering Sections
To change the order of sections on your page:
- In the theme customizer, locate the section list panel.
- Drag and drop sections to rearrange them. Grab the drag handle (⠿) on the left side of each section.
- Changes are saved when you click "Save".
You can also use the AI assistant: "Move the FAQ section above the testimonial section".
Enabling and Disabling Sections
Instead of deleting a section you might want to keep for later, you can disable it:
- Click the toggle switch next to a section name to enable or disable it.
- Disabled sections are hidden from visitors but retain all their content.
- Re-enable them at any time to bring them back without re-creating the content.
Deleting a Section
To permanently remove a section:
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the section.
- Select "Delete".
- Confirm the deletion. This action cannot be undone.
If you are unsure whether you will need a section again, disable it instead of deleting it.
