Creating Page Templates
Page templates let you save a page layout as a reusable starting point for new pages. Instead of building every page from scratch, you can create a template once and reuse it across your store with different content.
What Is a Page Template?
A page template is a saved page structure that includes:
- The section layout — which sections are included and their order.
- Default content — placeholder text, images, and settings that can be customized per page.
- Styling — Section-specific styling like background colors, spacing, and typography.
Templates do not include the actual page content (like product descriptions or blog text) — they provide the structure that you fill in for each new page.
Creating a Template from an Existing Page
The easiest way to create a template is from a page you have already built:
- Go to Pages in the admin sidebar and open the page you want to use as a template.
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) in the top-right corner of the page editor.
- Select "Save as Template".
- Give the template a descriptive name (e.g., "Landing Page with Hero and CTA" or "Product Launch Page").
- Click "Save".
The template is now available when creating new pages.
Using a Template for a New Page
To create a new page from a template:
- Go to Pages and click "New Page".
- In the page creation dialog, you will see a "Start from Template" option.
- Browse the available templates and select one.
- The new page is created with the template's structure and placeholder content.
- Replace the placeholder content with your actual text and images.
- Customize any section settings as needed and publish.
Managing Templates
To view, edit, or delete your templates:
- Go to Pages > Templates in the admin panel.
- Click on a template to preview or edit its structure.
- Delete templates you no longer need — this does not affect pages that were already created from them.
