Making Your First Sale

Getting your first sale is a major milestone. This guide walks you through every step — from adding a product to seeing the order come in — so you can start selling as quickly as possible.

Step 1: Add Your First Product

Navigate to Products in the admin sidebar and click "New Product". Fill in the essential fields:

  1. Title — A clear, descriptive product name (e.g., "Organic Cotton T-Shirt").
  2. Description — Explain what the product is, its features, and why customers should buy it. Use bullet points for scanability.
  3. Media — Upload at least one high-quality product image (recommended: 1200x1200px, JPEG or PNG).
  4. Handle — The URL slug is auto-generated from the title but you can customize it.

Step 2: Set the Price and Variants

Scroll to the Variants section. Every product needs at least one variant:

  • Set the Price in your store's default currency.
  • If your product has options like size or color, add them as variant options.
  • Set Inventory Quantity to track stock — or leave it unmanaged for unlimited stock.
  • Enable "Allow backorders" if you want to accept orders even when stock reaches zero.

Click "Publish" when you are done. The product is now live on your storefront.

Step 3: Enable a Payment Method

Before customers can pay, you need at least one active payment provider:

  1. Go to Settings > Regions and select your region.
  2. Under Payment Providers, enable Stripe or iyzico.
  3. Enter your API credentials from your payment provider dashboard.
  4. Save and run a test transaction using a test card (e.g., 4242 4242 4242 4242 for Stripe).

Step 4: Share Your Store Link

Your store is live at yourstore.usenuvi.com. Share this link on your social media profiles, WhatsApp, email signature, or anywhere your potential customers are. You can also copy the direct product link from the storefront to share a specific product.

Step 5: Process Your First Order

When a customer places an order you will receive a notification in the admin panel. Go to Orders to see it. From the order detail page you can:

  • Review the items, customer details, and shipping address.
  • Capture the payment (if using manual capture mode).
  • Create a fulfillment and mark it as shipped.

Congratulations — you have just made your first sale on Nuvi!
