Publishing Blog Posts
Blog posts help you share news, guides, and announcements with your customers. Nuvi gives you a full-featured editor with categories, tags, authors, and SEO metadata in one place.
Step 1: Go to the Press Section
Open the admin and click Press in the sidebar. The hub has three tabs: Posts, Categories, and Tags. Posts is the default view.
Step 2: Create a New Post
Click "New Post". Fill in:
- Title — The headline shown on the article page and in listings.
- Slug — Auto-generated from the title; this becomes
/article/your-slugon your storefront. - Excerpt — A short summary used in blog listings and link previews.
- Content — The body of the post, written in the rich-text editor with headings, lists, quotes, images, and links.
Step 3: Set the Featured Image
In the sidebar, use the Featured Image picker to upload or select an image from your media library. This image appears at the top of the article and in social-media link previews.
Step 4: Assign Categories and Tags
Categories group posts into broad sections (like "News" or "Guides"); tags are finer labels (like "summer", "tutorial"). Tick any number of categories and tags from the sidebar. To create new ones, switch to the Categories or Tags tab from the Press hub.
Step 5: Add the Author
Enter the Author Name — this is shown on the article and links to an author archive page. The Author ID is auto-generated from the name; override it only if you want a custom URL slug for that author.
Step 6: Fill in SEO Fields
Expand the SEO panel and add a Meta Title and Meta Description. These are what search engines and social shares display. If you leave them blank, the post title and excerpt are used.
Step 7: Publish or Save as Draft
Set the Status to Published to make the post live, or keep it as Draft while you edit. When you publish, Nuvi records the publish date automatically. Published posts appear in your blog index, in their categories, and on their author's page.
