Setting Up Stripe

Stripe is the most popular payment provider for online stores and the recommended option for Nuvi. It supports credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and many local payment methods.

Step 1: Create a Stripe Account

1. Go to stripe.com and click "Start now".
2. Enter your email, full name, and create a password.
3. Complete the business verification process (business name, address, bank account for payouts).
4. This process takes 5-10 minutes. Stripe may take 1-2 days to fully verify your account.

Step 2: Get Your API Keys

1. Log in to the Stripe Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Developers > API Keys.
3. You will see two sets of keys: Test and Live.
4. Start with the test keys (prefix: pk_test_ and sk_test_).
5. Copy both the Publishable Key and the Secret Key.

Step 3: Configure Stripe in Nuvi

1. In Nuvi admin, go to Settings > Regions.
2. Select the region where you want to accept Stripe payments.
3. Under Payment Providers, select Stripe.
4. Enter the Secret Key from your Stripe dashboard.
5. Save your settings.

Step 4: Test Your Integration

While using test keys:

1. Go to your storefront and add a product to the cart.
2. Proceed to checkout.
3. Use Stripe's test card number: 4242 4242 4242 4242 with any future expiry date and any CVC.
4. Complete the payment. You should see a successful order in both Nuvi and the Stripe dashboard.

Step 5: Go Live

When everything works with test keys:

1. Return to the Stripe Dashboard and switch to live keys.
2. Copy the live Secret Key (prefix: sk_live_).
3. Update the key in Nuvi settings.
4. You are now ready to accept real payments.

Payouts

Stripe automatically transfers funds to your bank account on a rolling basis (usually 2-7 business days depending on your country). View payout schedules in the Stripe Dashboard under Balances.
