Understanding Approval Requests
The Nuvi AI assistant uses an approval system to protect your store from unintended changes. When you ask the AI to do something that modifies your store, it will sometimes ask for your approval before proceeding.
When Approvals Are Required
The AI asks for approval before performing destructive or irreversible actions:
- Switching themes — Changes the entire look of your store.
- Changing colors or branding — Modifies visual identity.
- Adding or removing sections — Alters your homepage layout.
- Updating navigation — Changes the menu structure.
Read-only actions (listing products, viewing orders, getting summaries) never require approval.
How Approval Cards Work
When approval is needed, the AI shows an Approval Card in the chat. This card includes:
- Action Description — What the AI wants to do.
- Details — Specific parameters (e.g., "Change primary color from #333 to #2563eb").
- Approve Button — Click to allow the AI to proceed.
- Reject Button — Click to cancel the action.
Approving an Action
Click "Approve" to let the AI execute the action. The AI will then:
- Perform the requested change.
- Confirm the result with a success message.
- Show you what was changed.
Rejecting an Action
Click "Reject" to cancel. The AI will acknowledge the rejection and ask if you want to do something different. No changes will be made to your store.
Multiple Approvals
If you give the AI a multi-step command (e.g., "Switch theme and change colors"), each destructive step may require its own approval. You can approve or reject each step independently.
Why This Matters
The approval system ensures:
- You always know what changes are being made before they happen.
- Typos or misunderstood commands do not accidentally modify your store.
- You maintain full control over your store's appearance and content.
